Desert Veils Dancers
News And Events
BellyTalk - August 2017Hi Everyone,
It seems like it has been quite along
winter mostly lots of dull days. It is encouraging to have daffodils
and clematis flowering so spring must be upon us.
For the next few weeks Sue will be teaching a fan veil choreography on Wednesdays at 6.15-7.15
On Tuesdays Ms Bai newly arrived in Christchurch from China will do a 6 week bellydance course
open to all levels and I think will include a choreography. It is
always interesting to try different teachers. It will cost $50 for the
6 weeks. Let me know if you are interested or turn up on the 29th
The Gypsy Ball was a lot of fun as
always and the performances were great. We certainly enjoyed Chen and
Museques Chinese dance mixed with bellydance and the costumes with the
fan/sleeves made a dramatic addition. Our special guests Ms Bai and
Soul Star Tribe added to the atmosphere. A BIG Thank You
to the Desert Veils Dancers who all looked fabulous, some with new
costumes to add to the overall effect. To Sonidos Flamenco who showed
intensity and Anna who did her first solo. To the Gypsy Ball Band who
kept us dancing through the night. Most of all to the people who came
and shared the evening with us.
We had a lovely lunchtime performance at the ARA culture fest with a good crowd watching and cheering us on.
